I moved to Scottsdale, AZ in July of 2008 and am still in the process of finding community and resources here. But here’s what I’ve got so far, I’ll post more as I find them:
- AHCCCS BCCTP Program
AZ’s state funded insurance program for Breast & Cervical Cancer Treatment - Oncological Massage Therapy – Nikki Albert, LMTĀ [480.206.7700]
Nikki is a licensed massage therapist currently finishing up a 300 hour Oncology Massage training program. I had my first appointment with her today and she was fantastic. I left feeling incredibly refreshed and relaxed. I especially like that she is so well versed in lymphatic stimulation and drainage. I looked for someone with this skillset when I was in San Diego and didn’t find anyone. - The Wellness Community – Free support groups, educational classes and workshops!
“The Wellness Community (TWC) is a national non-profit organization that provides support, education and hope to people with cancer and their loved ones. Through participation in professionally led support groups, educational workshops and mind/body classes utilizing the Patient Active Concept, people affected by cancer learn vital skills that enable them to regain control, reduce isolation and restore hope regardless of the stage of disease. Most importantly, TWC provides a home-like setting for people fighting cancer to connect with and learn from each other. At The Wellness Community, all programs are free of charge.“
