Courageous Women, Fearless Living: A Retreat for Women Touched by Cancer

4th Annual Courageous Women, Fearless Living: A Retreat for Women Touched by Cancer

Shambhala Mountain Center, August 26 – 30, 2009

“Integrating all aspects of our being in a supportive and loving community is a powerful and transformative experience.”

I want to go to this!!!!!!!!!!! The stillness and possibilities for connection are calling me. I think the universe is leaning favorably on it because Southwest airlines is running a “double rewards” special on flights to Denver before September. So far, I’m hopeful…

Cancer Blogs

Sometimes I get tired of all things cancer. At other times, I am grateful for a place to read about how other folks are dealing with it. Here is a list of just a few of the many cancer blogs out there…some I’ve read and loved, some are new to me, take what you like and leave the rest!

Yikes, check-up time again!

Yes, it’s that time again. I have an appointment with a new oncologist coming up and I am NERVOUS!! I’ve got a big case of “breast cancer recurrence fear” going on and it sucks. I don’t like it at all!!! But after a recent amazing therapy session, I’m working on being kind and compassionate to myself and that includes when I’m freaking out or having emotions that I find uncomfortable. So far, it’s working well and providing some intense insights. Usually, when I have a fearful thought I try to dismiss it, which works in the moment but it comes back pretty quick-like. When I give myself permission to have the fearful thought, ask myself a question or two about it, and take a few moments for the emotion-chemistry to run its course in my body, it doesn’t seem to come back. So, that’s my plan for now. I’d love to hear how other folks deal with the recurrence phantoms…
